The International Esthetics, Cosmetics & Spa Conference
Las Vegas 2006 RECAP
Las Vegas, Nevada (July 11, 2006) – The biggest news in the beauty industry
is still the International Esthetics, Cosmetics, & Spa Conference (IECSC),
Las Vegas; held at the Las Vegas Convention Center June 3-5, 2006. As always,
this year’s conference allowed attendees, exhibitors, educators, and guests
the opportunity to experience the splendor of the largest all-professional spa
event in the world. Packed with over 1300 exhibits of skincare, body care,
cosmetics, spa and salon equipment/furniture, plus the latest services and treatment – over
45,000 attendees were able to view/participate in live demonstrations, bring
home retail and personal care products, purchase equipment, try samples, obtain
literature, and explore business related tools from companies around the world.
Once
again, the Show Management, Inc. team also brought the industry a sensational
educational program with General Session, Manufacturer Classes, Business Summits,
Makeup Workshops, Advanced/Post Conference Workshops, and the Medical Spa Seminar. World-renown
educators such as Jane Wurwand, Sylvie Hennessy, Robert Diemer, Dr. Murad, and
Jane Iredale were only a few of the industry leaders speaking throughout the
200 different seminars and presentations. Whether the attendee was looking
for, problematic skincare solutions, anti-aging, medical spa information, business
management, makeup, photo-rejuvenation, nutrition, body treatments, peels, or
waxing the opportunities for educational advancement were endless.
To add to
the excitement, IECSC, Las Vegas celebratedits 15th Anniversary Conference. Show
Management, Inc. and 1000 attendees, exhibitors and guest celebrated the conference
with desserts and champagne at our annual Welcome Party. Jane Wurwand, Mistress
of Ceremonies, and a fantastic panel of guest (Dr. Murad, Robert Diemer, Dr.
Mark Lees, Amby Longhofer, Dr. James Fulton, and Jackie Summers) hosted General
Session as they discussed the needs of the industry. During Closing Ceremonies,
Special Guest Speaker, Sylvie Hennessy gave a surprising and touching salute
to Magda Fichter, Executive Producer of the IECSC conferences; plus Show Management,
Inc. gave away a 2006 Red Mini Cooper.
The Las Vegas Hair & Nail Conference,
IECSC’s sister show, held simultaneously
at the Las Vegas Convention Center also had a great year and continued to add
to the all-encompassing weekend. 12,000 Hair and nail professionals were
able to visit companies such as OPI, Jessica Cosmetics, Creative Nail Design,
Goldwell, Sexy Hair, KMS, Paul Mitchell, plus a number of other hair and nail
related product and service companies. New this year on Main Stage was the Extreme
Team hair cutting educators and the Hair Cutting Competition, as well as, another
